The National Marine Sanctuary and Maritime Heritage Center have become a invaluable asset to our community. Not only in terms of the tourism it brings but to the education of today's youth. The many educational programs have brought in students from N.E. Michigan to enhance their interest in our environment and encourage their science exploration. It has also become a base for researchers from across the nation. The Great Lakes are a unique resource and need to be protected in many ways. The expansion of the Sanctuary allows the inclusion of several pristine wrecks ( our history ) that don't presently lay within it' borders. It would also include some unique sink holes that are proving to be scientifically significant. I support the expansion of the Sanctuary's borders and hope that you concur.
