As a personal proponent of marine conservation, as well as a visitor to the area, I would like to see the expansion of the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary to include the San Francisco-Pacifica Exclusion Area. I believe the expansion would aid in the conservation of the area's marine ecosystem, as well as initiate ecotourism in the area from visitors and residents near the habitat. Ecotourism is a rising form of tourism that promotes a more environmentally friendly approach to interacting with our environments and should therefore be encouraged through the expansion of the sanctuary.
