Environmental Impact Statements; Availability, etc.: Boundary Expansion of Cordell Bank and Gulf of the Farallones National Marine Sanctuaries

We support the expansion of the Marine Sanctuary as described. If approved, we urge NOAA to utilize the area for research purposes and objectively review future open water use with CA Fish and Wildlife for use by recreational and commercial fishing. Taking these waters for protection is appropriate, but there must be balance given for sport and commercial fishing so angling pressure is spread out and not regionally concentrated that may cause harm and resource degradation.
