Democracy is founded on the principle of egalitarianism. Equal opportunity for all for access to government owned property, including city streets and parks, is a fundamental right. By preventing the public from access to 30% of the inaugural parade route and, in turn reserving it for an elite few, is antithetical to our proclaimed democratic principles and makes a mockery of the Combat Infantry Badge and Purple Heart I earned in World War II to presumably stop a government of private privilege superceding a government of equal rights.
