One of the great things our country has done is establish national parks where wildlife is truly preserved in its natural state for posterity. They are havens where we can go to witness nature's sublime beauty and glory.
To help maintain the parks' wondrous natural beauty, it's vital to limit the number of snowmobiles travelling through in the winter. I think capping the number at 330 in Yellowstone is reasonable. This still allows people who can't access the park in any other way than a snowmobile to experience it in winter. Yet, it keeps the numbers down so that wildlife (so fragile during the winter months) is not as disturbed.
I am a cross-country skier, and I've seen masses of snowmobiles make their way up Yellowstone roads to Old Faithful in the winter. Limiting the number of smoke-creating, loud-buzzing machines passing through the winter wonderland would truly be best for all. Outside of the park, snowmobilers have full reign in many other beautiful ares, so the snowmobile industry should not be hurt by this.
Thank you so much for receiving comments.
