Hello, my name is Doug Bracy and I am vice president of Bracy & Jahr, Inc. We are a small (10 - 120 employee's) doing masonry construction in Michigan. I have had the honor of working with many veterans and am proud to say my uncle and co-founder of Bracy & Jahr was a WW2 veteran.
In a recent e-mail to me from the OFCCP the question was asked about identifying veterans looking for work. I know with Bracy & Jahr there are several ways of knowing if a potential employee is a veteran or not.
First and foremost is the resume work history question. There is no way a person who has served proudly in the military is not going to list that experience on their resume.
We also do hiring thru the union hall and ask the business agent if there are any veterans available for hire. The union generally knows the background of their members.
Thank you, Doug.
