In the section "Implementing Solutions", sub-section "Personal Protective Equipment", " Anti-vibration Gloves" page 49: describes "gloves with anti-vibration properties"... "should not dramatically increase grip diameter" or "minimize the loss of tactile sensitivity". We agree that would be an ideal solution, but, to date, have not been able to locate a glove with these properties. We believe that increasing the coefficient of friction between the tool handle and the operator will minimize "over-gripping" the tool and increase circulation to the hand / wrist. Therefore, we continue to pursue "grip gloves" combined with anti-vibration qualities. Such gloves must be available with flame- retardant properties for use when grinding on metal. Again, we have not been able to locate such a glove. Also, the glove pictured on page 49 has a wrist support. This feature is not recommended by Orthopedic Surgeons as it restricts movement of the wrist and may weaken hand and wrist musculature. In the section "Implementing Solutions", sub-section "Personal Protective Equipment", "Elbow Pads" page 50: "Elbow pads should fit snugly but should not compromise circulation in the arm." While we agree we have been unable to locate an elbow pad with these properties. Also, the added bulk of an elbow pad may restrict movement or create a safety hazard for those employees working in tight / confined spaces. Christina A Barbor
