My name is Andrew Horton And I am the Safety and Training Coordinator of the
Window Cleaning Division of Local 32BJ Thomas Shortman Training Fund.I believe
very strongly in this Standard. When enforced the result is a safer working
environment for Scaffold workers and the public.Working in the construction
industry is an inherently danderous endeavor.Even under the safest of
circumstances,accidents can happen.In today's world "Safety First"have been
reduced to a mere slogan rather than a routinely pratice jobsite
philosophy.Contractors routinely and deliberately ignore federal, state, and city
safety regulations and training requirements.I strongly believe that this standard
MUST STAY in tack, any lessening of the Fereral Requirements will dilute this
Regulation. If this standard is lessended in any way I feel that the workers lives will
be in danger.
