Tree Care Operations

In response to your request for information regarding the proposed rulemaking for tree care operations, I am submitting two manuals developed by the Ohio Department of Transportation used for training our employees to operate a bucket truck in conjunction with tree trimming operations and a manual on chainsawing and chipper operations. Subsequent training efforts have resulted in a dramatic reduction of accidents and injuries, as well as performing the proper associated maintenance of equipment and obtaining and wearing the correct personal protective equipment.
