I am strongly in favor of OSHA developing a safety standard specific to Tree
Care Operations as opposed to applying safety standards to our tree care
industry that were developed specifically for other industries, such as
forestry. However, I think it is imperative that any Tree Care Operations
standard adopted by OSHA be based upon the existing ANSI 133 Safety
Standard and that once adopted, OSHA continue to look to Z-133 as
technologies and methodologies advance in the years to come. The ANSI Z-133
Safety Standard was developed by an industry consensus group and represents
the the best means by which to ensure safety of the worker in Tree Care
Operations.
Thank You.
