In the State of Texas, under TAC Title 16, Chapter 18(Underground Pipeline Damage Prevention), it is provided that penalties be assessed to entities that incur infractions on the rules implied under this chapter. The ability to track the infractions that result in damage to a gas or hazardous liquid facility and the results of these infractions are presently available on the site at , www.rrc.state.tx.us/rules/rule.php. However, at this time, the ability to track a complaint filed on a noncompliant excavator when the infraction did not involve actual damage to a gas or hazardous liquid facility is not presently available. We were informed by the RRC that this is in the works and we would really like to see it happen. If this occurs, it would go a long way in closing the loop on reducing third party damage.
