I respectfully agree that stiffer regulations are needed for the safety and integrity of gas transmission pipelines. I am concerned about corrosion control and current inspection practices of the aging transmission infrastructure. Gas releases have a huge potential to negatively impact the public and environment sometimes with catastrophic consequences. However, in order to develop the most appropriate regulations, I do not disagree with extending the comment period for this proposed rule so that more data can be collected.
