We wish to express our request that the upcoming VAPG program not have a requirement to list owners and owners of owners. When this requirement was in place in the past, it precluded us from applying for a grant at all. As a marketing association with nearly 400 members, it is impossible for us to provide this information and we sincerely hope this requirement will not be part of the upcoming grant program. Next, we want to comment about proposed rule 4284.922(7)(c) on page 28829. As an agricultural producer group, branding activities are primarily what we do. We hope that there will not be restrictions placed on this very important part of our activies under which we might apply for grant consideration. We also want to comment about the proposal of additional grant scoring points for marketing in rural areas. While we often do market in rural communities, including the one in which we live and work, the majority of the customers of our producers are in major markets, like New York, Southern California, Texas, Chicago, and Florida. We hope there will not be restrictions placed on our ability to receive grant support if our marketing activities take place in metropolitan areas. Finally, we wish to request that the application period be open for 90 days to allow us the maximum amount of time to properly prepare and submit our grant request.
