As someone who lives in a farming community I am aware of the extensive electricity use by farmers. A small family farm near us pays about $800/month for electricity. A larger farm within a few miles of us pays about $2000/month for electricity. Both are interested in PV Solar but are not willing to wade through the grant application process. Neither can afford the upfront money for a system. Simplifying the application process is hugely important but I wonder if there couldn't be a representative that could work directly with farmers or the installers that work with farmers in order to get more farmers putting in systems. It may make the program more successful and definitely would have an impact on electricity being produced by PV solar and/or wind turbines. These farmers would size their systems to what they use.
