We strongly suppport the changes in the NAICS size standard determinations. We urge SBA to accelerate this process and to place in high priority the 56 series. In particular, solid waste management (562998) has a size standard that is not representative for contractors that deal with nuclear waste as opposed to other kind of waste. We recommend that a new NAICS code be added to deal separately with nuclear waste management. The sizes of small businesses on this area, given the more complex requirements are considerably larger than the other types of waste management contractors. In addition, the remediation code 562910 that has 500 employees as code, needs to be revisited too, since it is not representative any longer, the actual code should be considerably larger for nuclear remediation projects.
