There are drastic changes being proposed for disability requirements. I have a 3 year old son with Cystic Fibrosis, which is a chronic disease, and have watched the disease deteriorate his heath quickly over a short period of time (one winter). The proposed "episodes of illness" would have limited his access to proper intervention, further deteriorating his lung functions which we try very hard to preserve while waiting for the medicine to advance.
These changes will exclude a large community of Cystic Fibrosis sufferes, the main genetic killer in the US, from qualifying for SSI. How come home IVFs, ER visits and doctor's visits won't count as "episodes of illness"?
I am here to express my serious concerns with the application of the new regulations, and to ask that further consideration and studies are performed.
