Re: Docket No. SSA-2006-0179 I believe that speech and language coverage should be determined based on the effects of the speech, language, swallowing, and/or cognitive deficits rather than on the etiology of said deficits. If intervention is whithheld solely because the etiology is unknown, we a doing a disservice to our community. The sooner intervention is started the better the prognosis will be.
