To The Social Security Admin - Please delete the term "mental redardation". As the parent of a young man with Down Syndrome, it feels like a very outdated term, is demeaning, and has negative connotations. I have met several people from the UK and they cannot believe that we still use that our govt still uses that term. One gentleman from Scotland told me that if one of his employees was heard using that term, they could lose their job on the spot. Intellectual disability is somewhat more palatable to families.
