I would like Social Security to make a wording change in their regulations taking out the words mentally retarded, and replacing these words with intellectual disability. This term treats individuals with intellectual diabilities with more respect and does not infer that they lack intelligence. As a person with a disability I always applaud terminology that more accurately respects individuals with disabilities.
