Subject: TRIA Final Netting Proposed Rule Comments
As an interested student of public administration, I appreciate the sincere and hard work of the Department of the Treasury for looking out for the interest of the people in this country. Also, I would like to share with my perspective on the final netting proposed rule related to the Terrorism Risk Insurance Program in the Act of 2002. In my view the Treasury should not have to notify insurers of the date every time, rather they should keep a fixed period, such as 180 days for every insurers to complete their claims, so this way you would save the Treasury’s time and have more organization at work. Also, I would appreciate better clarification of which categories the Department of the Treasury is going to use in order define their definition of large and small business that have appeared in this proposed rule under part IV. Procedural Requirements: “Insurers that are affected by these regulations tend to be large businesses; therefore, Treasury has determined that the rule will not affect a substantial number of small entities.”
Sincerely,
