This is one more example of a TSA proposed rule making that will add nothing to the security of this country. I am an aircraft owner of a two place aircraft that is more than 40 years old and will lift a grand total of approx. 600# including two passengers, baggage, fuel and oil. As any reasonable person can deduce this aircraft, which is kept in a locked hanger, both when being serviced and at its stored location is not a threat to the security of the United States. This aircraft is physically in the repair station that I use for between two and four weeks out of each year.
This repair station is owner operated and has one parttime employee. The regulations this agency is proposing would impose an enormous financial burden on this business. Obviously, that financial burden would be paid solely by myself and the other customers of this business.
To say that I am opposed these regulations is an understatement of the first order. Its quite clear that the homeland security dept. is intent on making sure that no American individually retains the right to fly an aircraft, a right that has existed for more than 100 years. I fully intend to inform my elected representatives of this continuing deteriorating situation.
