Dear Sirs;
Your agency found in 1993 that the average consumer does not care about the
nutritional information of alcohol. In 2003 there are some specialized groups that
want this information available to the consumer. I believe that these special
groups are concerned about the problems related to drinking too much alcohol,
but this is not the way to get the information out, there are better ways. This is
why I am against this rule. Your agency has already wasted money on this, and if
it is approved, it is the consumer that will pay a few cents more for the information
on the bottle that will not be read by the intended audience anyway. If someone
is really interested in the nutritional information of alcohol there are multiple
references available already, we do not need to reinvent the wheel, and have the
consumer pay for it.
Sincerely
Jay Hyland
