The rich history of wine in this region would be well served by the formation of this
Leona Valley AVA. It would have a positive impact on this area that is committed to
maintaining its rural roots. The Antelope Valley Fair maintains wide community
involvement from our many 4H and FFA groups as well as the many alfalfa, carrot, and
onion growers. The wines coming from this area are unique and very popular with the
public. The area is also well know for it's cherry growers and draws many people for
their annual u-pick season. This Leona Valley AVA is an important evolution of the
resurgence of wine grape growing in the region.
