As the owner of Franklin Hill Vineyards and a member of the Lehigh Valley Wine Trail, I am very
distressed to hear that the Lehigh Valley AVA has been held up after four years of research and
compliance completed and submitted by representatives of the Lehigh Valley Wine Trail. The
Lehigh Valley AVA has made it to the final stage and should not be held up by proposed rule
changes of the TTB. These rule changes would have no affect on the Lehigh Valley AVA. The
Lehigh Valley AVA does not overlap or contain any existing AVA, and there are no existing wine
brands using the name "Lehigh" or "Lehigh Valley".
The Lehigh Valley AVA encompasses 9 wineries and over 220 acres of vineyards. This project
has been ongoing for four years and should most definitely be granted final approval.
Thank you for your consideration
