The proposal for expanding the Russian River Appelation into the valley that has its water run off into the Petaluma River is the most rediculous suggestion that I have heard in years. This area is several miles south of the Russian River Valley and the climate is extremely different, very windy and much colder, than that of the Russian River Valley. The proponant of this appelation change is trying to tag onto the Russian River Valley so that they can take advantage of a different area that has become known for its great grapes and this will save them money in advertising and will also diminish the quality of the wines sold under the Russian River Valley Appelation name. I am opposed to this proposed change and hope that it is not allowed. Thank you, Floyd Richard Youngs
