I am pleased to see the Sierra Pelona Valley Viticultural Area being evaluated. As a 23-year resident of the general area, I am aware of the terroir in that valley. Though I do not live in the viticultural area specifially, I visit frequently enough to be familiar with it. I have enjoyed wine tastings and purchased wines from Aqua Dulce Vineyards for several years. It is my understanding before Prohibition several of California's earliest vineyards and wineries were located in the area, including Leona Valley and Bouquet Canyon. It would be good to see them come back and be recognized for their unique qualities.
