To Whom it May Concern: On behalf of the East Central Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission, please accept our full support for the proposed Wisconsin Ledge AVA. As a state-authorized regional planning entity, we have been involved in conservation and economic development issues at the regional level, including those associated with Wisconsin's Niagara Escarpment (Ledge) corridor. This designation will not only serve to improve the region's economy through the support and expansion of the wine and grape growing industry, but it will also help to showcase this internationally important geologic resource and its associated tourism economy. East Central RPC pledges its continued support for the AVA in terms of promotion, tourism enhancement and workforce development. The Wisconsin Ledge is a special area which is worthy of this designation from both a scientific and economic perspective. Please contact me should you have any questions.
