Notice No. 129: Proposed Establishment of the Indiana Uplands Viticultural Area and Modification of the Ohio River Valley Viticultural Area

I am very much in support to establish the Indiana Uplands as an AVA. I studied wine in college in the 1980's and wanted to start a winery and vineyard. My wife and I reviewed the entire United States and decided that the area within the boundaries of the proposed Indiana Uplands AVA was perfectly suitable for growing high quality grapes. Recently, we have had wines critiqued by wine writers, and one of our wines is currently on a top 10 wine list of worldwide wines under $20. That, in and of itself, to me, speaks volumes as to why our area is uniquely qualified to become the next AVA. Another writer based in California, purposefully sought our wines to critique them.
