Hey, Thousands of us decide to go to Mexico or Canada for a weekend vacation on the spur of the moment and we don't have passports. Your rule will take away this freedom to travel on the spur of the moment for millions of American who plan vacations over a short period of time, ie "Let's go to Mexico and hit the beach for three days." Let's have national driver's licenses instead. That way we only have one document.
