This NPR indicates that DHS knows nothing about foreign countries. For example,
if I have to abide by this notification requirement upon returning from Mexico,
where will I obtain Internet access through which I can communicate with DHS????
Not at the airport, but perhaps after a $50 taxi ride to town. And there is no
way I can get back to the airport and then fly back to the US within an hour!
It is a stupid and ignorant rule. Foreign countries DO NOT have instant and
pervasive Internet access as in the US. Sometimes they don't even have power!
And DHS will have no jurisdiction in foreign countries for these countries to
guarantee such services.
The ONLY way this will work is if the US government installs internet access
terminals with uninterrrupted power, at every airport of exit in all foreign
countries accessible by private aircraft. And then DHS must provide instant
background checks for instant approval to the private aircraft crew. Also, DHS
must guarantee that the foreign government does not appropriate these terminals
for themselves. Sometimes there are large numbers of private aircraft going
through these border airports, which service both Private aircraft and
Commercial aircraft. How does DHS propose to control the flow of this traffic
so as to not impinge upon this silly 60 minute rule??? Again, this NPR
demonstrates ignorance of the highest order and stupidity to the nth degree.
