With regard to the closing of the Morses Line Border Crossing. It is absolutely necessary for this crossing to stay open. As a business owner in the Town of Highgate Center, Vermont we are getting a significant amount of year round business from Canadians who uses the Morses Line Border. Many of the Canadians have expressed to us that it would be very inconvenient for them to travel around. Looking forward, with the new construction of a year round water park in Jay Peak, and with Wal Mart and possibly other stores goin into St. Albans, it is my opinion that we should update and upgrade the Morses Line Border to allow customers ease in entering the United States. We closed many un-manned borders in the last years due to necessity, so it is imperative that the remaining border crossings are left open and operational. The Morses Line border should be upgraded to ensure the safety of the people of the United States of America. Any funds spent on this upgrade would be an investment in our future and safety.
Thank you.
