We are strongly in support of the open border crossing. We visited the park before the closing and just this year after the closing. The impact on Bo1uillas was astounding! Gone were the people walking around and boats going back and forth. It was sad to see all the activity disappear. We missed the small trinkets that we could buy as gifts for friends. Due to the location of the town and its isolation from the rest of mexico, we don't feel it would be much of a terrorist threat. We felt safe there before and we will feel safe there again. Big Bend's economy is also impacted because going across to Mexico was a big draw and made the park much more interesting! It just didn't seem the same to us and I'm not sure we would go back again. However, if you open the border, then I'm sure we would go back.
