I have for the last five years been doing research into the use of CO2 as a piscicide for wetland restoration and fisheries production. It seems logical that these ships that are CO2 generators capture part of the CO2 they produce and inject it into the ballast tanks. If done for the duration of the voyage it would in effect sterilize the water by lowering the ph to 3.9. This coulf be done efficiently and without delays in shipping or huge costs. The technology exists today and can be implemented as green technology. Look up the effects of CO2 in water, it may be as simple as cost effective as that. Not all CO2 is bad if it is put to good use. Sound science. What we do for ourselves alone die with us; What we do for others and the world remains and is immortal.
