We on Lift Boats are treating us like a Casino boat that rearly or never goes anywhere. If we get a 3 for 1 credit. 12 months = 4 months our 6 months of sea time = 2 months? So we basically get 2 months of sea time per year.
So basically if you need 1 years sea time to renew and we work 2 weeks (15 days)a month, we get 5 days seatime credit x's 12 months. We get 60 days time a year. 60 x's 5 years is 300 days. So we don't have enough time in 5 years to renew and the Gulf of Mexico as far as Lift Baots shuts down. An our family and livelyhood is gone forever after my 22 years experiance as a Liftboat Captain means nothing.
We on Liftboats train constantly in drills. Our Crew (deckhands and mates unlike some constant underway vessels) hold the wheel, train in navigation and wheel watch. Our Deckhands and Mates even conduct enginroom watches and do enginroom repairs oil changes and so forth on Lift Boats. We earned and deserve better than this to be cut out of our well earned seatime for our hard work.
We do all our Drills, vessel maintance and training Jackedup up or underway.
Please don't take away our right to a day for day seatime, our livelyhood depends on it..... Thanks....
