to reduce whale strikes it is clear that what needs to be done are two things. slow all ships down to less than l0 as proposed here. and in addition to make the areas where they cannot go larger. this is especially needed since the size of the ships coming to america are growing exponentially. the small sizes of ocean where they cannot go make no sense for a ship that is as large as l miles and the ships are getting to that size. we need to restrict the size of ships. we do not need to have such large ships on our oceans. the size of ships is getting out of control. we have a finite planet.
