Before readers are required energy should be focused on streamlining the application and updating process. There are numerous accounts of mariners applying for an extension and paperwork being lost or filed incorrectly resulting in an incorrect application. This delay results in the current TWIC card expiring leaving the holder out of work until everything is slowly sorted out and a re-screening process takes place. Robbing the American people of work and wages will only result in an unhappy public and lawsuits against the government. I urge you to proceed carefully, it's time we move the TWIC program forward rather than forcing new issues on the table before the very foundation is working properly. The TWIC program is already a hotly contested issue leaving many frustrated and temporarily out of work. It's not the time for another mishap in an already broken program. The time remaining to save this sinking ship is dwindling and if the bureaucrats don't work together to solve the issues already happening this program will surely fail and further shake the American citizens' faith in the system.
