the fines for oil spills should be increased by five thousand per cent. we get thousands of oil spills in alaska alone. in cold water you cannot recover spilled oil. it is clear that the oil profiteers do not care one little bit about the horror where they spill and make life on earth uninhabitable. let the execs at these companies drink the oil they spill from now on mandatorily. it is time that the fines are increased to stop the spills, which happen much too frequently. there are thousands of oil spills every year. these profiteers care not one bit. we need to hit them where it hurts - their pocketbooks. i also believe the executives at the oil companies need to have a one million dollar hit in their pay for every spill that happens. you would see a change in their carelessness. right now the american public is paying for this pollution. the oil profiteers shoudl be responsible in full.
