The temporary change at the Blue Bayou Pontoon bridge which placed a curfew
on vessel (boat) traffic at regulated times was helpful. This change allowed me
and several other employees of LeBeouf Bros. Towing to commute via this route to
and from work knowing there would not be a wait at the bridge for vessel traffic.
The bridge is convenient and shortens the travel time for many of LeBeouf's
employees. There were several times during the day when the bridge was closed
for vessel traffic, but the closure times from 6:30 to 8 a.m. and 4:30 to 6:00 p.m.
are the two times that are most beneficial to the people commuting to and from
work. If the bridge were closed to vessel traffic at these stipulated times, we feel
that our company could attract people to work at our shipyard since they would
not be burdened to travel further to come to work.
