To whom this may concern, Am I wasting my time writing this? I would hope not! I have been fishing seal island for 25 years, I have been through many storms ,extreme weather and destruction of lobster gear within a 60 foot depth that anyone could imagine, and if any unexploded ordinance were on the bottom within that range that ordinance would have gone off ten times over. I realize the U.S. coast guard doesn't make these rules you just have to enforce them. But who in gods name sits behind a desk and thinks this stuff up especially 70 years later or so after the shelling took place. I make a big part of my living inside the 60 foot range of seal island every year and now I cannot go in. It really blows my mind that a couple of people can put a signature on a piece of paper and just alter our lively hood. The fisherman can only take so much and this will be another nail in the coffin. Has the government ever considered some kind of financial consideration for us fisherman that do make a big part of our living there? I would doubt it!! This was one law that should have had the advice of a lot of fishermen that know the bottom at seal island and how the weather and the ocean reacts there. We could of helped them considerably.
