The Bayou Liberty bridge should be manned with regular hours for many reasons. One reason is that this will reduce property value, because large boat owners will not buy property above the bridge due to inconvenience of using their boat. Another reason would be in the case of hurricanes and other weather conditions. Our boats could not be moved to another location. Calling ahead has not worked, and to rely solely on this method will be a huge limit for the enjoyment of this scenic waterway, with a parish owned public facility at Camp Salmen.
