Here the Captain of the Port is caught sleeping. It seems that the City of San Diego is opening the Broadway Cruise Ship Terminal. The cruise lines knew about it. They scheduled ships for port visits and booked passengers to fill them. However, the Coast Guard missed the boat. Now, they need to enact an emergency temporary rule to protect the cruise ships in port. It seems that Comander Michael Dolan needs some remedial training on due process of law, especially proper notice and an opportunity to be heard. Let's hope that the next Captain of the Port of San Diego is more attentive to his duties. After all, are the Coasties not the ones who are going to protect three aircraft carriers of the Pacific Fleet when they are all tied up together like "Battleship Row." God Save Us.
