I just read the article online regarding the "ban on pleasure craft bridge closures". I love the idea. Being someone who crosses the bridge frequently, I'm annoyed when the bridge is closed for personal water craft. But I believe that the time frame they have set is not a good one. Most people do not schedule appointments that late in the day, let alone would be late to work at that time. I believe a better time frame that we would be confident knowing that we would not have to worry about the bridge closing would probably be 9am to 12pm. It's a more realistic time. I work in Silverdale and noticed that most bridge closures I endured were when I was scheduled to work 9:45am and 11am. Although I do get the text alerts for when the bridge is closing, which is a nice feature, they could however use work. I sometimes don't get the text that the bridge is closed until I am sitting on the bridge that is closed. If the text alerts came, say even half an hour earlier it would give us time to re-think our travel plans (wether to leave the house earlier or later). Of course I remember back in the day when we could look online for the bridge closures for the week but since 9/11 that no longer happens.
