We, the City of Prescott have been in close communication regarding the extension of the Cottonwood Island Anchorage. We are satisfied with the extension in the event that ships will only be anchored with approval from the Coast Guard in case of emergency only. We are still concerned with noise levels, pollution, security, and the impact on views when this anchorage is extended and vessels will be allowed to anchor for long periods of time. We would still like to see the area in fron our our residential community to remain free of anchored vessels.
We do appreciate the communication with the representatives from the Coast Guard and the shortening of the initial extension of the Cottonwood Island Anchorage. Please respect our concerns and willingness to compromise.
