This comment is about navigating bogue inlet and the danger of the shallows. I fish offshore and this is my main route. I have been through there and followed the markers and the water depth be as shallow as 2 feet in places. I know of one possiblly twp boats that have sank there. I know many boaters from this area and they all say this is a unsafe inlet. Boaters like the inlet due to the mass area of water it is the depth that is a issue and the markings. Im assuming the bouys are moving due to current. I have saw dredges in the inlet many days and that helps but it is short term. This is one of the nicest and very popular inlets in nc in my opinion. IT HAS GREAT MARKING AS FAR AS THE AMOUNT OF BOUYS BUT AGAIN IT IS WATER DEPTH. I hope someonecan help boater at this inlet very soon.
