I am an active fisherman - both recreational and commercial. I also do a lot of recreational boating and transit the offshore and inshore waters of North Carolina regularly. I am in favor of offshore wind fams and feel that they would benefit fishing as Fish Attracting Devices much as the offshore oil and gas rigs do in the gulf. Clearly shipping and boating interests have enough flexibility in manuvering that there would be no safety hazard. The gulf is again a good example where boating interests are not adversely impacted by offshore structures.
