Alas the epidemic of Coast Guard officers asleep on duty has spread across the country to Boston. Here the captain of the Port of Boston, has 8 events scheduled in advance such that they cannot be rescheduled and some as part of larger events, yet the Captain of the Port not only failed to put the paperwork in on time for the statutorily prescribed notification period, but his emergency request comes over a month after the first event occurred. Maybe the Coast Guard can find a one-man weather station for this officer where the demands will be less rigorous for him.
