During the 2012 RNC, there will be numerous law enforcement and US Coast Guard vessels in the area working it. Due to the very limited dock space, multiple vessels will have to be tied up to each other at the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office Marine Unit boat ramp/dock. Extending the No Wake/Security zone further south, to a point just south of the HCSO Marine Unit boat ramp, will create a safe area for Law Enforcement to operate out of. Additionally, extending the no wake/security zone will provide law enforcement with more time to react/respond to any potential threat by water which may be speeding to get the the RNC footprint.
