Please provide clarification as to if/how the possible termination of validity for Form I-551 will affect the Form I-9 process; specifically, if a green card expires after having been submitted to the employer, will employers be required to re-verify authorization to work in the U.S. after the expiration date on the card, particularly when its validity has been terminated by USCIS? Currently, employers are not required nor permitted to re-verify authorization. Please confirm that this will remain the same even if a card's validity is terminated by the USCIS. Thank you.
