Commissioned Officers of the Regular or Reserve Corps of the Public Health Service are not included under the definition of active duty, which is required for eligibility. PHS Officers are uniformed servicemembers and eligible for the current GI Bill. Why have the PHS Commissioned Corps Officers been excluded from the proposed post 9/11 GI Bill?
