I am a Desert Storm veteran who has struggled with a strange "disease" since 1993. I have had flare-ups with this "disease" every 12-24 months since that time. I was diagnosed with tow auto-immune diseases in 2007 and continue to get treated by Johns Hopkins University for these diseases.
I applied to the VA in 2009 for disability for Gulf War Syndrome and was denied. I am still working with Johns Hopkins to get a full diagnosis to take back to the VA in protest of their denial.
Since auto-immune diseases can take YEARS to fully diagnosis, veterans need the extension to allow the doctors and experts time to set things right.
